The FA - Football’s Staying Home Cup
THE BRIEF
With COVID-19 putting a pause on live sport, the FA instructed DSM to devise a gaming tournament utilising England internationals.
Fitting with the #FootballsStayingHome campaign already launched by the FA, DSM created the #FootballsStayingHome Cup.
DSM were able to create engaging content for fans, while also adding a bit of healthy competition between England players and raising money for charity.
THE DSM APPROACH
16 England internationals were selected to play against their fellow England players – First-team, Lionesses and Under 21s.
All players played with the England team against one another in a head to head game of FIFA.
DSM provided all players with tech briefs to assist with set up, gameplay capture and video footage capture.
DSM arranged for FIFA esports commentators, Brandon and Richard to commentate all 11 games as a way bridging the gap between traditional football and esports. As well as bringing eLions Tom and Tekkz into the broadcast.
The tournament was broadcast across the FA’s YouTube, Twitter and Facebook channels.
